Visting the National Cathedral
I've been living here in the DC area for about a year now so it was finally time to go visit the National Cathedral. I have passed it multiple times but have never taken the time to stop. We went on a weekend that Chris and Kevin were visiting from Philly and Krystal was visiting from North Carolina. It was a fun day!

Speedlite in Daylight
Wanted to take my Canon Speedlite out to get some use. I haven't used it much so I wanted to get a little better acquainted with it in daylight conditions. We went over to some walking/biking paths and took some shots just for fun.

Assateague Ninja
Stella snapped the shutter for me on this one. Great timing on her part. This is me jumping into the sunrise at Assateague Island after a great weekend of beach camping. My attempt at being a ninja.

Go Biking!
Lately I have been doing a lot of mountain biking. Nothing hardcore, but enjoying the trails in the area. Just thought I'd share a GoPro self portrait. Have a happy Tuesday!

Pui in Georgetown
I went to Georgetown with Stella and her friend Pui this past week. I was more of an assistant to Stella on this photoshoot but she let me take a few pictures too. She did a good job with her shots and I'm glad she's out shooting along with me! Here are a couple of my shots from Pui's shoot.

Vega Wedding
Here is a glimpse of the VEGA's wedding day. This is the followup to an engagement shoot I did with Brenan & Bridgette a few months ago, which you can see by clicking HERE! I had a blast shooting this wedding.
I've known Bridgette from the beginning of my Southern experience (almost 6 years!) and it has been awesome getting to know Brenan the past couple years. They are so fun to be around and their love is contagious. I feel honored to have been included in their wedding day. Congratulations to Bridgette & Brenan Vega!
And special thanks to Brandan for helping me shoot this wonderful event.

Mawa
A shot of me hanging out with my sugar glider Mawa. She became curious when she heard the camera shutter. The room was actually really dim. So I had use a slowwww shutter speed and a really high ISO as you can probably tell.

I've been messing around with the Brenizer Method a little bit lately. I think it definitely takes some practice. As you can see from the pictures below, I failed a few times and didn't get enough shots to create a full photo. But I could always crop in. Once I feel comfortable with it, I will be able to implement it into my portrait/wedding shoots to add a nice effect to some of the shots.

What A Week

| Big Names in Film |
First, I visited Simi Valley, CA to attend the Sonscreen Film Festival. It was very well put together. There were plenty of people to talk to, seminars to listen to, and films to watch. The quality of the films was really great. I enjoyed watching many of the films and it made me proud to be a filmmaker. I was blessed to have won the award for "best documentary" in the festival. I entered my documentary, "The Golden Glove" featuring Ryan Martin. It was nice to hear feedback and have it screened in front of a new audience.
The next adventure was in Joshua Tree National Park. My coworkers and I spent the (cold) night in Joshua Tree shooting astro time lapses. It was fun but also challenging. My lens ended up frosting over halfway through the night. You can see a sample shot from the portion that worked out.
From there we flew out to Vegas to attend NAB. This was my first time attending NAB, and wow there was a lot to see. I definitely didn't see everything there but I think I covered what I wanted to see. There are so many new great products coming in the near future. It blows my mind. I'm glad I was able to see the new products and also a highlight was listening to lectures by big names like Philip Bloom and Vincent Laforet. What a great week!
